Edit many transactions at once
On a computer, click Edit Multiple, tick the transactions, set the new values and click Save. FIYR shows every change for you to confirm first.
- Click Edit Multiple above the list. Checkboxes appear next to each transaction, and the edit panel replaces the donut on the right.
- Tick the transactions to change. Shift-click selects a range. Select All selects everything that matches your current search and filters, including rows you have not scrolled to.
- Check the count, for example "12 Selected · $486.20".
- Set any of New Name, the date, New Amount, Select New Category, Select New Owner (if your profile includes a spouse), Add Labels and Remove Labels.
- Click Save. The Review Changes window lists every transaction as "field: old → new".
- Click Confirm Changes, or Cancel to go back.
Things to know
- New Amount sets every selected transaction to the number you type. Incoming transactions stay incoming, so typing 50 sets a refund to +$50. Type a negative number to turn a purchase into money in.
- Add Labels adds to whatever labels are already there.
- Every changed transaction gets a History entry, and linked recurring bills are updated.
- Remove Labels takes the chosen labels off every selected transaction, on its own or together with other changes.
- Delete Selected deletes the ticked transactions after a confirmation. This cannot be undone.
Turn it into a rule
After a bulk rename or category change, the message at the bottom offers Create Rule, filled in from what the edited transactions have in common (a shared name, a shared start of the name, or their old category). Check the conditions and save it so future transactions follow.
Edit Multiple is not available on a phone.
Common questions
Can I bulk edit on my phone?
No. Edit Multiple is on the computer version only.
Does Select All only pick what is on screen?
No. It selects every transaction that matches your search and filters, including ones further down the list.
Can I undo a bulk edit?
There is no undo button. The Review Changes window shows exactly what will change before you confirm, and each transaction's History records the old values.
