Review new transactions and duplicates
Turn on Transaction Review Dots to get a blue dot on every new transaction until you mark it reviewed. The Review tool also gathers uncategorized transactions, likely duplicates and transfer pairs.
Blue review dots
- Open Settings > Preferences and turn on Transaction Review Dots ("New transactions show a blue dot until you mark them reviewed").
- On the Transactions page, click a blue dot to mark that transaction reviewed.
- To clear many at once, open ⋯ > Review > Unreviewed and click Mark Page or Mark All.
The Review tool (computer)
Click ⋯ next to the date buttons and choose Review. Each tab shows a count:
| Tab | What it shows |

| Unreviewed | Transactions with a blue dot (only when review dots are on). |
| Uncategorized | Transactions in Uncategorized, usually ones your bank did not categorize or whose category you deleted. |
| Potential Duplicates | Groups with the same amount on the same date, or the same name and amount within 3 days. Use Mark as Not Duplicate on a group that is fine, or Delete All Duplicates to keep the first of each group and delete the rest (you confirm first). |
| Verified Duplicates | Appears when an account was linked twice (same last four digits). Unlink the extra account first; see Unlink a bank. |
| Review Label | Transactions you tagged with the review label. |
| Ignore | Suggested pairs of money out and money in with the same amount within 3 days. See Transfers and credit card payments. |
Transactions labelled ignore are left out of every Review tab.
The review label
Add the built-in review label to anything you want to come back to: a charge you do not recognize, or one to split later. The row gets a red outline and appears in the Review Label tab. Remove the label when you are done.
Review is on the computer version. On a phone, tap a blue dot to mark that transaction reviewed, and use a computer for the Review tabs.
Common questions
What is the blue dot?
A review marker for new transactions, shown when Transaction Review Dots is on in Settings > Preferences. Click it to mark the transaction reviewed.
How do I clear all the blue dots?
Open ⋯ > Review > Unreviewed and click Mark All.
How do I find duplicate transactions?
Open ⋯ > Review > Potential Duplicates. Check each group, then mark it as not a duplicate or delete the extras.
Why are transactions Uncategorized?
Your bank did not send a category FIYR recognizes, or the category it used to map to was deleted. Fix them in the Uncategorized tab and add a rule for repeat merchants.
