Delete a transaction
Hover the transaction, click ⋮ and choose Delete, then confirm. Deleting is permanent. To keep a transaction but leave it out of your totals, label it ignore instead.
- Hover the transaction and click ⋮ at the right end of the row.
- Choose Delete.
- The window asks "Are you sure you want to delete this transaction?" and warns "This action is permanent and cannot be undone." Click Delete.
On a phone, tap the transaction, tap the 🗑 icon at the bottom of the sheet, and confirm.
Delete or ignore?
| Delete | Label ignore | |
|---|---|---|
| Still in the list | No | Yes, faded |
| Counts toward totals and budgets | No | No |
| Can be undone | No | Yes, remove the label |
| Good for | True duplicates, test entries | Transfers, card payments, reimbursed costs |
Most of the time ignore is the better choice. See Keep a transaction out of your totals.
Deleting many at once
On a computer, click Edit Multiple, tick the transactions and click Delete Selected. For duplicates, Review > Potential Duplicates has Delete All Duplicates, which keeps the first transaction in each group. See Review transactions.
Does it affect my bank?
No. Deleting removes the transaction from FIYR only. Your bank's records are not affected.
Common questions
Can I restore a deleted transaction?
No, there is no restore in the app. If you deleted one by mistake, add it back with Add Transaction using the same date, name, amount and category.
How do I hide a transaction without deleting it?
Add the ignore label. It stays in the list, faded, and is left out of every total.
Can I delete several at once?
Yes, on a computer: Edit Multiple, tick them, Delete Selected, then confirm.
